Schools get 80,000 Linux desktops in Spain
The regional government of Extremadura has used Gnome and Linux as that desktop software on 80,000 compters for students. They claim that by using Linux they have supplied all the software that students need for education while saving 18 million euros, "or nearly one third of the total budget of 67 million euros"

For more information read the press release at the Gnome website.
